2000 years ago or so, a little baby was born to a humble Jewish family. We are still celebrating His birth today, which should be reason enough to believe. One of His names is Emmanuel. It means: “God with us.” Jesus existed long before He came to be born a man on earth, but He chose to come as a man, show us what God’s Kingdom is like, and be hung on a crucifix. He, (an eternal Spirit), chose to come to earth and endure hardship, misunderstandings, hatred, betrayal, and murder so that He could conquer the evil one and make mincemeat pie out of him. Colossians 2:15 states: “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (NIV). This little Christmas child grew up, preached, taught, and healed, then died so that we could have authority over all the devil can do. What a celebration we should have today because of what He accomplished, and that He chose to leave Heaven, come to earth, and SAVE US!
