Daniel speaks of those who refuse to come to Father God through Jesus in Daniel 9:27, which speaks of the end of time: “… and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate” (KJV). The NET Bible translates: “Until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.” Of course, the devil is the one who destroys, or the desolate one, who is totally empty of God, and exists as His exact opposite, but those who follow the antichrist and his god, the devil, will be desolate. Merriam-webster.com/dictionary states that desolate means: “devoid of inhabitants and visitors: deserted.” You see, God deserts those who follow after evil rather than good, and refuse to come to Him. If I had created the world, sent my own son to die for the wickedness of the people of that world, and offered them salvation and deliverance from evil through believing on that son, not having to earn eternal life, but just by believing and following my son could be forgiven of all sin and and freely given life eternally in glory, would also desert those who would not receive me. But I’m not the Savior, Jesus is. Reason now, and come on, let’s serve Him in this life so we can be blessed in the next, not desolate!
