We are told that as believers, we will “take up serpents.” (Mark 16:18). When you get so close to Jesus that you can’t stand the deception around you, you will want to take up those serpents, or devils and cast them out, so that the chains that bind people will be broken. This only happens through the Name of Jesus and the power of His Blood. Beware of some things. When you try it, (and you do have to practice the things of God, not just sit on the knowledge), the serpents will begin to twist and bite, and try to get away from you or scare you into quitting. These are the wiles of the devil that Paul spoke of, and even at times, the serpents devils will expose themselves through people to the extent that you will be mightily tempted to let go and quit. Just keep using the Word of God as your sword of truth and pummeling those evil spirits until they let go their grip and leave those that you have been fighting, fasting, and praying for. Be the little Jack Russell terrier that goes hunting for those snakes and makes mincemeat out of them! Do it for Jesus!
