How do you know if you love the Lord? We know David loved Him because God said through the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite about Solomon and his reign: “Howbeit, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes” (1 Kings 11:34). Then we have the New Testament perspective as Jesus stated: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” (John 14:21, King James Version). Obedience is the proof of the pudding. You can do all kinds of good works, serving others, denying yourself, being kind and generous, BUT, if God is directing you to a different way, a different place, a different people, just YIELD, GO, and DO what you know in your heart that He wants, even though it seems crazy, scary, and impossible. It may be contrary to every thought you’ve ever had before, but if you KNOW that God is asking, His hand will be upon you to do it, and as you move, it will become possible, and do-able, one step at a time.
