There are no time-outs with the devil. You can’t ask him to just quit harassing you, beating on you, or to go away and let you take a big fat break. He is persistent, buggy, and hateful, but totally defeatable. You can win this game, because the greater one lives in you, and He has already defeated satan. When John beheld Jesus on the Isle of Patmos, Jesus told him, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore. Amen, and have the keys of hell and death” (Revelation 1:18, KJV) Jesus beat the devil for you, and then gave you authority over him, but like a police officer, you have to use your authority, or he will continue to pound you. When you say, “In the name of Jesus!” All of the spirit-world comes to attention. You be more persistent, buggy, and hateful to the devil than he is to you. You have the backing of Heaven! Just don’t stop!
