When your mind takes off on things that do not line up with the Word of God, flush them. You know what I mean. When you are confronted with the past and its negative emotions and memories, flush them out of your mind. Throw them into a mental toilet and push the handle down. Watch them swirl down into the sewer and out of your way. This is spoken of in the Word of God as taking your thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). Since you would not tolerate a wild raccoon or a polecat in your home, you must not tolerate thoughts that pull you away from Jesus and all that His Blood on the Cross accomplished. Even thoughts that seem harmless, like the ones you get from funny movies or shows, or sentimental ones that pull you into emotions that paralyze your faith, need to be exterminated from your life. You get to choose your path. Carefully examine your free time. In the world we live in, it is wise to “seek the LORD with all your heart” (Deuteronomy 4:28-30), especially in these last days. Blessings on your path!
