The Bible tells us more than once to, “stand fast.” (2 Thessalonians 2:15, 1 Corinthians 16:13, Ephesians 6:11 & 13-14): all of these speak of standing strong in the Lord, and on the foundation of His Word. This means to be immovable, firm, fixed, not easily swayed, concreted, and super-glued to the ground of faith in Christ and His all-encompassing deliverance and healing from the power of darkness. If your feet are glued, your whole body is in a fixed position of strength, which is where we need to be to face an enemy. We can learn a lot from sports. Baseball players work from early morning until game time, working on their physical strength, agility, and endurance so that when it is time, they are ready. When they go up to bat, they are firmly planted, with their heels dug in, ready to turn their upper bodies to blast the ball out of the park. This is how you should see yourself: planted, glued, secured to the Lord, immovable in your faith!
