God used Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon to discipline His Israelites. He even called this despot, “My servant,” in Jeremiah 25:9. Go figure… You see, Father God had warned them again and again through His prophets that they must not act like the unbelievers around them, nor follow their gods. God and His Son will be number ONE! Then God goes even farther. In Jeremiah 24:5, He states that, “Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.” How so? So they would change their behavior, repent, and then God could, “give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD, and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.” (Jeremiah 24:7) It will be worth it!!
