Beware of your own good intentions. What we think is good, may not have any reward in Heaven, and may not produce any fruit here on earth. It is so easy to take up a task without thinking, or more importantly without asking God if that is the direction we need to be heading. Obedience is much more important than sacrificing ourselves, our health, or the Lord’s Will for what looks very “Christian” or “important” or something that is seemingly satisfying to our souls. Just let go of all of that, and flow in the direction God has for you. Remember He knows the way through the maze and what will be a roadblock to where we need to go, even though it may look good, smell good, and talk good. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5, KJV).
