A shepherd leads his sheep. He speaks to them and trains them to hear his voice only. If somebody else calls to them, they don’t respond, just as a child hears its mother’s voice in a crowd of children after school. We are tuned into what we are familiar with and know. When two people have married, each can tune into just a whisper from their mate and know exactly what is meant. To really hear someone else takes relationship, time, affection, and the choice to honor that other person’s voice. So it is with the LORD. When you determine to love Him for all He has done for you, you will want to hear His voice. You will KNOW Him and His ways, and know where to find Him. You will be listening! Psalm 46:10 states: “Be still, and know that I am God” (KJV).
