When you enter God’s REST, it is a place of peace and power. It is like being in the eye of the hurricane. There is stuff swirling all around you, but you are in complete safety and assurance and quiet. It is a wonderful place to be, but it ain’t easy to get there. Hebrews 4 tells us that we must “labor to enter it.” So how do we do that? We labor in God’s Word, prayer, and seeking Him UNTIL we KNOW. It is an inside place, not an outside place, because the world will never be at peace until Jesus gets back here, but we can be safe and secure and perfectly in peace, when we “drop down” into our spirits and commune constantly with God. To labor means to “work hard” for something. Resting in the Lord is trusting Him in EVERY situation. It is worth laboring in the Word and prayer and EXTREME FOCUS. Athletes do it. Students wanting to be doctors do it. You can do it. It takes making an extreme decision to be extreme about Jesus! “Lord, help us to focus extremely on You, so that we can enter Your Rest. Then help us to help anyone around us to do it too!”
