Sometimes the Lord will tell you to do some crazy things. He told Elijah to go hide by a brook called Cherith from King Ahab. Elijah had to get up and move. He had no idea what would happen when he got there, except that God had said to go! (1 Kings 17:1-7). God provided for him there, sustained him with bread and meat that was brought to him from some ravens, and drank out of that brook. This is one of the most supernatural stories in the Bible, showing us how obedience brings God on the scene. Cherith actually means ‘cutting.’ Sometimes we need to cut ourselves away from our present circumstances in order to get to God. Seen any ravens lately?
