Feel like everything is a little crazy? Perhaps we are in the latter times described in 1 Timothy 4. It seems that seducing spirits (could this be the porn which is so rampant), and doctrines of devils are going to be leading some believers astray. A doctrine according to the Cambridge English Dictionary is: “a belief of set of beliefs, especially political or religious ones, that are taught and accepted by a particular group.” We certainly don’t want to be in a group with a bunch of devils, so what do we do to stay out of their congregation? Verse 5 of 1 Timothy 4 gives us the answer inadvertently: “…the word of God and prayer.” It’s back to the basics for us. We must not trust any man or woman, but only the Word of God, and what the Holy Spirit tells us in prayer. It really simplifies things because confusion comes from satan, himself. Don’t listen to Grandma, your church leaders, or your best friend, if it doesn’t line up with God’s written Words. If you haven’t read it all, lay down your cell phone, turn off the TV, grab a Bible, and dig in! Start with the New Testament, then move to the Old. I was 28 when I first read the book that I believed I knew all about for the first time. Wow, was I surprised by the power and the Glory in it. Come on!!!!
