When you are mountain climbing, you don’t usually begin at the summit. You begin in the valley and work your way up. It feels pretty good when you get there, because it’s exhilarating to see where you’ve come from. BUT, God is with you when you are climbing, just as much as when you get to the top. The Syrians once made the mistake of insulting God by saying, “The Lord is the God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys…” (1 Kings 20:28, KJV). The Syrians lost 100,000 soldiers in battle in one day, and a falling wall killed 27,000 more. Must have been quite a wall!
