When we come to Jesus (accept Him as Savior and Lord), there are two ways we can go. We can change our outward behavior by an act of our will, or we can change our inward heart. The first is good and acceptable, but if the second is not our focus, we become RELIGIOUS. Religious people judge everyone else by how good they themselves are, and constantly compare themselves to others who are not quite able to achieve their level of holiness. Those who humble themselves, soften their hearts, repent often, and most importantly, trust the LORD to change them and others, will be much more pleasing to be around. Which do you think the LORD will justify before the throne, those who achieved sainthood by works of their flesh, or those who simply obeyed the voice of the LORD? I have tried it both ways, and I want the inward leadings of the LORD to be my mode of operation. (Matthew 23:23-26)
