Your mouth is your port of exit. From your spirit you vomit up your words and they tend to spew out unchecked. David cried out to the Lord, “Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips” (Psalms 141:3, KJV). For those of us who love to talk, we need to be very careful what we allow to come out of our mouths. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21, KJV). That should be enough to help us close our ports to keep evil from coming out!
