Your Faith In Jesus’ Blood Will Stop All Evil..
Flowing Blood has long been used to establish covenant, (a sworn oath of allegiance) between two parties by many ancient peoples. Indians often established “blood brothers” by mixing blood from man-made cuts. In the Old Testament, it is stated that, “the life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11).” Today we know this is true, because of all the blood carries within it that sustains life. Without blood, we humans cease to exist.
When God decided to make a covenant with Abraham, the father of the Jews, He made His covenant by blood. This covenant is eternal and made Israel a permanent partner with God. They were to obey, He would protect and provide. They had to sacrifice animals (blood) to cover their sins before God. This was a continual problem, since they all sinned repeatedly. However, when Jesus died on the cross, He became the perfect sacrifice for all of mankind. He willingly gave His own flesh and blood to be sacrificed. He endured a whipping with cords which tore down into His body, the crown of thorns, the nails in His hands and feet, the drops of blood he sweated in prayer, all these caused His blood to drip and flow. This blood from God’s own son, erases our sins in God’s eyes, IF we accept Jesus as our LORD and Savior. That is the way we become born again, or taken into the Kingdom of God.
When God decided to take His people out of Egypt and away from Pharoah, He sent the plagues, until Pharoah decided he would let them leave Egypt. The night before they left, during the last plague, there was a Passover established where God told Moses to have all the families of Israel kill a spotless, perfect lamb (picture of Jesus), and paint the Blood on the doorposts of their home to keep the death angel from taking the firstborn son from each family. This is what we badly need to remember: the Blood kept death away from these families, who were “special” to God. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, it means we take Him to save us from our sins, sicknesses, dis-eases, disasters, and death. Wherever Jesus walked on earth during His ministry, people were healed, delivered from demons, provided for supernaturally, and raised from the dead. So His Blood on the cross will do the same thing today, IF WE BELIEVE! His Blood is a living entity, passed down for more than 2000 years as the remedy for the ills of mankind. However, it has to be APPLIED. This is our part, which we do with our spoken words in prayer. We take the BLOOD of Jesus and apply it to our homes, spouses, children, pets, vehicles, businesses, whatever is needful and close to our hearts. (James 4:7, 1 John 3:8, Luke 10:19). It takes effort to apply the blood of Jesus. Old timer Christians called it “Pleading the Blood,” just like you would plead a case before a judge. You are presenting knowledge of your innocence of sin, and your right to claim that satan cannot touch what is yours. Like the authority of a military commander, president, or policeman, it has to be used against evil, not ignored.
One of the most profound stories about the Blood Covenant in the Old Testament was the story of Rahab. This lady saved her entire family from destruction by hanging a red cord out her window, (which represented the Blood Covenant of the Israelites with God.) Although a woman of evil reputation, she believed that the Jews had a special relationship with God, and she secured a blessed future for her and her household when she protected Jewish spies from certain death in the city of Jerico. God blesses those who believe in the Blood Covenant and its promises. Just like Rahab, protect your household with the BLOOD OF JESUS before and during an enemy attack.
Jesus gave us the privilege of taking communion to remember Him by. We remember His body (by taking the bread), and His blood (by taking the juice or wine) to remember His sacrifice on Calvary. We we can also remember to apply His blood BY FAITH to our lives today. This reminds the devil that we are Holy and acceptable to God, and worthy of His supernatural protection, provision, and healing; just because of the Blood Covenant that Jesus gave us. We don’t have to earn it, we just have to receive what He accomplished.
Some descriptions of what the Blood is follow through 12 words that begin with the letter P.
The Blood is Profuse: It came out of Jesus’ pores, head, hands and feet and his back and sides, until it FLOWED and pooled up for us! We can apply that blood profusely on everything that happens to us during our days here on earth. It is so profuse, that it can be applied to and cover every person who will believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of our LORD. There is no end to how many times it can be used, and there is no lack to what it can do, when we use it by faith!
The Blood is Purposeful: Jesus knew exactly what would happen to Him if He came to earth and was born as a human child. He knew He would be a sacrificial Lamb who came to save the world, and He came willingly and purposefully.
The Blood is Preventative: It will stop unwanted demonic activity when applied to sickness of the body, mind, and spirit. It will stop the purposes of the enemy which Jesus described are to kill, steal, and destroy, (John 10:10). When used daily, it will keep sickness, lack, and the snares of the devil to a minimum.
The Blood is Protective: It surrounds us with an impenetrable shield as we go about our daily lives, being led by the Spirit of God. (Psalms 91)
The Blood is Powerful. There is nothing more powerful in the universe than using the Blood that was shed for the world, combined with our FAITH in it. It gives us supernatural power to take on principalities and powers of evil and overcome them: (Revelation 10:11)
The Blood is Positional: When we apply the Blood to our future plans, it will keep us in our Father’s will, and re-position us to fulfill our destiny.
The Blood is Portable: It goes with you wherever you are. You can never get out of range of the covering of the blood.
The Blood is Profound. It is an incredible, un-deserved gift from God, than never fails, and is constantly revealing new and different facets of its power to save us.
The Blood is Permanent: It will never change, leave, or lessen it’s power. It is never changing, enduring, eternally constant.
The Blood is Perfect: It understands more than we can ever discover, it never makes a mistake when aimed at satan. It is the perfect sacrifice… and perfectly free of cost… It perfectly covers our sins.
The Blood Penetrates: It goes into the deepest, and most remote parts of the mind, body, and spirit to cleanse, soothe, and deliver from satan’s power, and brings to the light any traces of darkness that might keep us from God’s presence.
The Blood Pours: “There is a fountain filled with Blood, Drawn from Immanuel’s veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains… (William Cowper). Jump into the river that cleanses from all evil, and revel in the richness of its power…
Jesus said in Matthew 9:29, “According to your faith, be it unto you.” If you can put your faith in the Blood of Jesus which flowed down His Cross on Calvary, and the meaning of the covenant it purchases for you, you can apply it over you and your household, and all your “stuff” and know that angel forces will “guard you in all your ways” (Ps 91:11). Happy believing!!
