Matthew 6:25 is a powerful verse for the days we live in. Jesus gives us a key to living in His Presence and staying at peace in the middle of chaos. He said: “Take no thought for your life; what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment”….. Then Jesus continues in verse 33: “but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (KJV). All the verses between those two are very excellent also, but the point I want to make is that we can control our thoughts. We can “take” them. Have you ever watched a cop show on TV where they arrest the bad guy and throw him (or her) in the back of the squad car in handcuffs? That’s what we can do with our thoughts. We can take those rowdy thoughts captive and bully them into submission. You be the cop here, and “police” your thoughts. Are they filled with God’s Words? Read and meditate, and mutter them out loud until they become more powerful in your mind that the reality that you see. Your thoughts will create your reality. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exaulteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ” (KJV). Control your thoughts and make them Heavenly, not earthly.
