This is something to chew on… ask yourself if you have made an idol of knowledge. Dig deep. Do you spend more time asking Google or Duck Duck Go for information, than you spend in the Word of God? Do you watch news reports 4 or 5 hours a day, which repeat themselves over and over, and half the time aren’t even half true? Is a degree more important than spending time with your loved ones? What is your priority, your brain or your heart? We all have fallen before this idol. We all wanna be smart, nobody wants to be a dummy, but here is the thing: Time spent as God would have you, is eternal, and will bear fruit forever in God’s Kingdom. Time spent learning worldly facts will someday be unnecessary because they will all be burned up. II Peter 3:10-11 states: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then, that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…” Prioritize, please!
