In Joshua the seventh chapter, we find much warfare strategy for our own battles. (Please read these chapters first to understand these points.) Joshua always heard the voice of the LORD, because he was always listening, and had had 40 years of extra wandering in the wilderness to seek the LORD’S face, and know His voice. Look for these points as you read Joshua 7 & 8 about the Israelites’ battles with the city of Ai. 1. Make sure you are prepared by a true relationship with the LORD to order to go into battle. Do you trust Him to lead your prayers, proclamations, and praise, and bring these to pass? 2. Make sure you have no “accursed things” in your life that you need to get cleared out before you attack the evil spiritual beings in your territory, or you will have instant defeat. 3. Seek the LORD for His strategy in dealing with the enemy, and follow it exactly. If He instructs you to take spoil, take it. If He instructs you to keep fighting until every demon has been routed, do it. If He gives you the battle plan by explaining where to put your troops, and the date and time to begin, do it. Listen to promptings by Holy Spirit or you will delay the battle and have to put up with the evil spiritual entities longer. ULGH! 4. Do all things, “according to the word of the LORD” (Joshua 8:27, KJV), in order to insure complete victory. 5. When you win the battle by doing things the LORD’S way, always build an altar of praise and worship to glorify the LORD, and to remind yourself of what the LORD has done for you! Give Him the Glory!
