Why is Jesus relevant today? In our modern world that provides lots of entertainment and distraction, why do we need to give our attention to a man that lived two thousand years ago? Without Him, there would be no hope, no afterlife, no miracles, no peace, no healing, and no light. Sin would completely take over, selfishness, immorality, unrighteousness, and darkness would be over us as it was over Sodom and Gomorrah. If you don’t know about those cities, read about them in Genesis 19: 1-29. Back to Jesus: This is what Isaiah 53:4 tells us about what He did on the Cross: “Yet on himself he bore our sufferings, our torments he endured, while we counted him smitten by God, struck down by disease and misery; but he was pierced for our transgressions, tortured for our iniquities; the chastisement he bore is health for us and by his scourging we are healed” (NEB). If you can believe this verse, you will understand that everything you have done badly, Jesus has done right, and by His actions, and His sacrifice of His Life’s Blood, evil is removed from you like a black cloud is blown away by strong wind, and you are able to go to God, and ask and receive so that you may have joy and peace in this life. “Lord help us to receive the weightiness of this revelation, and to love Jesus with all our hearts, our souls, and our strength!”
