When you worship, it simply means you spend your time with the object of your attention. You can worship many many things here on earth, or you can worship the LORD God. Leviticus 22 tells us a few things about worshiping God. In verse 24, we are told, “Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut” (KJV). In other words, don’t give God your seconds, your left-overs, your yard sale offerings, or junky half-hearted praises. Give Him your BEST! In verse 29, we read: “And when ye will offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, offer it at you own will.” In other words, you choose to praise Him, adore Him, give Him your attention over and above anything or anyone else. He doesn’t want you to do it because someone else is doing it, or because you know you need to. Do it by an act of your will, willingly determined to seek Him, know Him, and obey Him. There is no pursuit in the universe that compares to Him!
